April Showers!
Well, we are getting our fair share of April Showers, coupled with some crazy winds and very high or very low temperatures. Seems like nothing about the weather is moderate anymore. I'd appreciate a 50 degree sunny April day. That's fine...but I'm not sure we've had one yet. Anyway, I'm jumping on here to remind everyone that has a Spring Share (which is not the Summer Share), that the Spring Share is starting the last week of the month. That is Tuesday the 28th and Thursday

Cold February Weeks
Well this past week brought loads of snow and absolutely frigid temperatures. The dogs were getting a little coo-coo without being able to be outside as long as they are used to (which caused the farmers to get a little coo-coo, too). We also started signing up new members from our waitlist for the upcoming Spring and Summer CSA season! We've only emailed Wait List Groups A and B so far, so if you are in a later group you will be receiving emails shortly. Remember you have to

Thanks for a Great Growing Season!
And that's a wrap! Our final Winter Shares were distributed during quite a week full of weather, but at least the vegetables and choices were plentiful! Thanks to everyone who supported this small business over the course of 2025. We already have the seeds ready to go for 2026, but we have a lot more planning to do and a lot more projects and updates to complete before we can turn our attention to growing food for everyone again. The crazy weather is making it difficult to re

Winter Share #7 of 7: 1/20+1/22- Final Pick Up and Bulk Sale!
This week marks the seventh and final Winter Share pick up of the 2025 season (even though it is now 2026 ;) Which means that it is also time for our Annual Bulk Sale, too!! It's been a wonderful Winter season in so many ways, so it is nice to cap it off with a big final share and bulk sale to fill up your fridge and pantry. Now maybe these long Winter months at least taste good! We've emailed everyone in the Winter Share with instructions on how to place an order for the Bul

Winter Share #6 of 7- 1/6+1/8 Happy New Year!
Back at it this week after a much needed break full of rest, friends, family, and food! We've been loving these really cold (more like average) temperatures this Winter compared to the past 4 Winters. The colder weather helps control bugs, plant pathogens, and severe storms. We really like when the weather is cold so we do not get those HUGE snow storms. But the cold weather also makes farming in the Winter more difficult. So there is a trade off. We currently have lettuce, b

Winter Share #5 of 7- 12/16+12/18: Happy Holidays!!
This week is our 5th Winter Share of 7. Though it will be the last vegetable distribution of the calendar year, it is not the last one of the farm year! We also have two more pick ups in January. The difference is we are taking two weeks off for all the holidays before we'll see everyone again in 2026! We've been getting our fair share of Winter weather, even though the first day of Winter is the 21st. These cold blasts have been something; if not anything a blessing. It mak

Another "Off" Week from the Winter Share
This week is another down week for the Winter Share. As we have moved to every other week distribution for the cold season. And COLD it is! I'm glad we aren't having share pick up while these frigid temperatures move through. This past week was quite a busy one preparing for a low of 8 degrees :0 We've harvested everything from the big fields as mentioned. We have some spinach and greens braving it under a frost blanket and the snow in hopes it will survive under the insulati

Winter Share #4 of 7- 12/2+12/4: Winter Might Be Here Early!?
The official first day of Winter is December 21st this year, but this week is feeling like it might just be here for good. Luckily the weather at the beginning of last week was so nice we were able to harvest all the rest of all that broccoli I was talking about. Broccoli in December is such a treat! We also have loads of leafy greens, which might be what you are searching for after your Thanksgiving feast. We are entering a time of year when we finally get to take a breath a

Thanksgiving Market at the Farm- Tuesday Nov. 25th
I can't believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner! We will again be hosting our annual Thanksgiving Market at the farm on Tuesday November 25th from 2:00 to 5:00 in the share barn. We set up market style with pre-weighed vegetables that you might want for your big meal or your pantry. The event is the only time we are open our doors to everyone. We will have potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, garlic, shallots, brussels sprouts, butternut squash, acorn squash, kaboch

Winter Share #3 of 7: 11/18+11/20-
Yes!!!! We looooooove this time of year! The leaves are mostly on the ground and the morning sun brings the best light of the whole year! We are still harvesting veggies from the big fields, even after that cold plunge. We prepped as much as we could the previous week knowing that we would be in for some cold temps and snow. And it looks like all our hard work paid off as much of the crops did just fine out in the weather. Of course it helped that the ground temperature was s

Week of November 10th- An 'Off" Week
There is no Winter Share pick up this coming week as we transition to every-other-week pick ups for the cold season. This week marks the first real deep freeze of the Fall. We have prepared and harvested a ton of veggies because this freeze could be the end of the outdoor farming season. We will see how cold/snowy/bad it is once we are on the other side! Of course we have all the vegetables growing in comfort in the tunnels, so no worries we will have kale and lettuce through

Winter Share #2 of 7-11/4+11/6: November
Welp, It's November and I'm not sure where October went. We are about to 'fall back' for Daylight Savings Time and this is the time in the season where we feel like falling asleep at 8pm! After a long season (that still isn't done yet) we are pretty tired; then add the time change and everything gets thrown outta wack. It does, however, help with cold mornings because the sun is up earlier to thaw out everything before we have to harvest. Speaking of harvest, now that it is N

Winter Share #1 of 7: 10/28+10/30- Spooky Cold
Wowee! It's the last week of October and our first real freeze just happened. This means anything that can't handle being frozen just perished if it was outside last night. This includes crops, weeds, and bugs. Good thing all the crops we have out it the field are frost/freeze champs and can handle it! They even get sweeter after they are frosted a few times (we call natural sugars nature's antifreeze because the plants create more sugar to withstand the elements). Anyway, th

Summer Share #20 of 20: 10/21+10/23- The FINAL Share of 2025
Yikes! We've been busy...so busy I've not been able to write a blog in a while. Sorry about that, but this is our final Summer Share pick up week :) Don't forget to bring renewal forms with you to your final pick up so we can say "See you next Summer!" We are busy around here trying to get bulk harvests done before the first (dare I say it) snow. We have gotten all the beets, and potatoes out of the ground, but we still have the massive carrot harvest, plus all the other smal
