Yikes! It's always a little nutty when I hear we are halfway through the share. It seems like there has been so much jam packed into this season already that we should be past this point by now. But we are here! The final pick up week of the season is the week of October 19th. And so much more will change be then, too!
I read this morning that the Northeast has as much humidity this weekend as the Amazon does. No kidding! This has ALSO been a bit nutty, but is in line with the vibes of 2026. I just wish we could have less storms and torrential rainfall...but it looks like that may be a bit too much to ask.
But as the 'dog days' of Summer are coming to a close I hope the chaos and the bugs leave, too. A bright spot is the melon harvest this week!! Holy moly these might be the biggest cantaloupe we've ever harvested! This week's share will include new potatoes, squashes, cucumbers, carrots, beets, peppers, fresh onions, head lettuce, fennel, kale, chard, salad turnips, cantaloupe, tomatoes, and maybe the first watermelons, too!!
The fruit share will hopefully be blueberries, peaches, plums, and apricots.
