I always try to point out when the seasons actually change. It is important to remember that even in a hot stretch the last frost we had was May 11th...about a month ago. So Summer crops that can't handle frost and need a minimum of 60 days to mature are at least 2 months out from May 11th. So even though it's warm now the tomatoes are only starting to make tiny green tomatoes, and the melons and eggplant aren't even flowering yet to then eventually make fruit! The official first day of Summer is June 21st ;)
But I digress...so we are here enjoying Spring's bounty!! Yeah all things green!!! This week's share will include salad radishes, kohlrabi, bok choy, baby beets, spinach, fennel, pea shoots, garlic scapes, bunched greens, kale, chard, and head lettuce.
