Winter Share Week 1 of 8:10/31+11/2 Spooky Good

The first week of our Winter Share will be starting this week! Everyone designated a pick up day, either Tuesdays or Thursdays, so the first pick up will be either on Halloween or the 2nd of November. All pick up times for the duration of the Winter Share is 3:00 to 6:00.

***THESE HOURS ARE DIFFERENT THAN THE SUMMER SHARE**

Sorry for the ALL CAPS, but I'm trying to draw attention by highlighting the important parts ;)

Everyone in the Winter Share should've received an email with all the info you need to pick up your first share.

Anyhoo, this crazy weather has got me worried a little bit. It has been way too warm for us to be entering November. I'm sure the Lake Erie temperatures are way higher than average at this point of the year. This is the formula for large lake effect storms...which we got 2 of last year. My nerves for another event like that are not calm right now. But this week is looking like it will be closer to 'normal' daytime temperatures for this time of year, fingers crossed.

The first Winter Share distribution will look like the last Summer Share one. We have loads of greens right now as their favorite times of year are Fall and Spring. We still have some Summer crops, but most everything at this point can handle a good frost in the field.

The first week's share will include head lettuce, bunched greens, bok choy, squashes, potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, beets, salad radishes and turnips, peppers, onions, fennel, radicchio, kohlrabi, baby daikons and cabbage.

We will even have pears and apples available from our farm partners as well as our own fresh ginger and turmeric available for purchase! If you are not in the Winter Share but want some fresh ginger and turmeric, just show up during regular pick up hours to grab some ;)
