If you live anywhere near the Great Lakes there is a saying about the weather that always makes me roll my eyes: 'If you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes'. But that was kinda the theme for the past 2 weeks...and it's looking like maybe this week has some surprises in store, too. The snow was so beautiful, but then you couldn't see, and then the wind picked up, but then it cleared up and so beautiful. Then it got coooold, but look how pretty the trees are. You know, that kind of stuff. But this week will bring rain, mixed rain, sleet, snow, which means probably ice, too. So stay tuned and check back to this blog for any changes with share pick up if we should need them. Let's just hope this week is uneventful weather-wise!
So with all these cold days strung together, we're hoping the veggies in the tunnels have fared well. The sun has been stingy this year as well, and some sun on a cold day would go a long way!
Nevertheless, we have awesome produce to give to you awesome Winter Share members. Don't be surprised by what the Winter in WNY can offer. PLUS...it's all great ingredients for some hardy, heart-filled meals ;) This week's share will include: potatoes, winter squashes, radishes, turnips, carrots, parsnips, celery, kale, bok choy, onions, lettuce, and more!
*This share marks the second to last Winter Share of the season. There will only be one more after this week*
