Well, we knew it was coming! November is finally here after seemingly having 75 days of September. We are ready for the dip in temperatures, luckily. We just hope everyone else is ;) Hopefully the first snowflakes this week don't turn into too much accumulation, but I may be eating my words soon (remember Snowvember?). The lakes are very warm right now. So as we got to enjoy a ridiculously warm October and November, we may and up paying for it shortly.
But let's hope I am getting ahead of myself!
This week is a share pick up week, while the following week is the week of Thanksgiving. There is no share pick up the week of Thanksgiving. Instead, we annually have out Thanksgiving Market at the Farm. We set up the share room in the big white barn like a farmers market and sell vegetables for the big dinner (or for your pantry). The Savage Wheat Project will be here for the Market as well. You can pre-order for pick up the day of off her website, or buy a la carte on the day of the Market. The Thanksgiving Market at the Farm is Tuesday November 22nd from 2:00 to 5:00; cash or check only**
Also, remember to renew or sign up for the 2023 Summer Share if you are a current member and if want to. Soon we will be opening up the available shares to the wait list (which, there are only about 30 open spots right now).
As for this week's Winter Share it will include: potatoes, sweet potatoes, squashes, onions, carrots, parsnips, beets, kohlrabi, leeks, bunched greens, kale, chard, bok choy, lettuce, salad radishes and turnips, cabbage, fennel, scallions, brussels sprouts, and celery.
