Well, the fruiting crops like sweet peppers, tomatoes, and summer squashes are starting to wane, while the transitional crops (transition from Summer to Fall) like leafy greens, kale, radishes and Fall squashes are coming on strong. Maybe we can get some actual Fall weather soon and encourage the Fall crops to start maturing :)
As mentioned last week, Bin Season is in full swing and the list of crops to harvest just keeps growing. The butternut is the last of the Winter Squashes we need to pick up and cure. We are continuing to harvest potatoes, and soon we will be getting the sweet potatoes out, too.
The Upick fields are waning as well. We will definitely have them open next week, but beyond that is up to the weather and seasonal deadlines we have to adhere to in order to properly care for the soil in the field before the cold gets here.
As for the share, it keeps changing too! This is what is in the share this week- potatoes, carrots, beets, fall squashes, cabbage, peppers, eggplant, onions, kale, chard, kohlrabi, radishes, radicchio, lettuce, tomatoes, and garlic.
The fruit share will include raspberries, pears, peaches, and nectarines.
