Summer Share #3 of 20: 6/24+6/26- Another Heat Wave

Yes we are working outside during this latest 'once in a lifetime' heat event, and trying to stay hydrated and sane. The vegetables already received a round of irrigation and we are already starting to irrigate everything all over again. With some water the veggies should be fine, but there are some crops like broccoli that hate the heat.

All the broccoli from 2 plantings have decided to mature at the same time. The yield is about the same, but the harvest window is 2 weeks instead of 4 :( On the other hand, the tomato plants are growing like crazy!

As for us humans we had to plan for this heat dome starting last week. So even though we are harvesting our literal butts off, we also have to keep weeding and seeding and all around farming during this. We're hoping the overnight lows go below 70 degrees soon!

This week's share will include broccoli of course, plus salad turnips, radishes, garlic scapes, broccolini, bok choy, cauliflowers, beets, carrots, arugula, spinach, head lettuce, kohlrabi, and bunched greens!
