Summer Share 11 of 20- 8/15+8/17: Slaugust

What a wet and crazy storm-filled week we just had. Here's hoping for some drier weather for the rest of the month, but it looks like we may have to make it through another week of rain before we are in the clear. I know if you spend most of your time inside you probably don't know what I'm talking about, but we've been getting double the amount of rain we need for the past several weeks. And just like everything in life, moderation is key. Soooo double the amount of rain is not good for vegetables in the same way that double the calories, or double the screen time, or double the bacon may not be good for people.

Also, just a reminder that we grow EVERYTHING that is in our vegetable shares. Which means everything that is inside the share barn is grown by us. Everything in the Fruit Share is not grown by us and lists the orchards/farms that the fruit comes from.

This week we will have lots of tomatoes available for purchase in the share room! Make sure to take a look if you want to start preserving, or just eating lots of tomatoes :) And this week will be the last one for elderberries I think.

The share will include: potatoes, carrots, beets, squashes, peppers, eggplant, onions, cabbage, kohlrabi, fennel, radicchio, head lettuce, tomatoes, and potentially the only week we'll have for melons this season :(

The fruit share will include plums, nectarines, and peaches!
