Crew Members are involved in multiple aspects of the farm including transplanting, hand weeding, hoeing, harvesting, washing and packing produce. There is also greenhouse and high tunnel work including seeding, watering, trellising and turning beds by hand. If you have interest in or experience with tractors, then you would also be helping with field prep, bed forming, and cover cropping if yo want.
The farm work environment is uptempo and requires the physical capability to contribute daily in a rigorous, fast paced setting. Farm work is incredibly rewarding, yet physically demanding. Please consider this commitment before applying. Pay is commensurate with experience (starting at $15.00/hour for 2022; higher for people with experience). The season generally starts around March 1st and ends in the Fall, but the farm schedule is flexible (some people start in April or just work for the Summer months). We have both full and part time positions available seasonally. Some year round work available for those who want it.

We are looking for reliable, hardworking people who are able to follow directions and communicate well with others. We love farming and we like to enjoy the work while it is happening, so a good sense of humor is also a qualification. Previous farm or landscape experience is preferred, but not necessary. Remember, we work outside so you must be able to work in all weather conditions. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the farm are required. We love what we do, and we want a farm crew that can get along well and have fun while also getting a lot of stuff done at the same time!

Please submit a resume or something similar and email detailing the following:

  • Why you are interested in working at Root Down Farm
  • Your previous farm related experiences
  • What you personally want to gain from working here
  • If you are interested in full or part time work

If you seem like a possible fit we will contact you for an initial interview here at the farm. An on farm (COVID safe) visit is required for the position.
